Plastic Surgery Isn’t Going to Help Retired CIA Spies in the Future – Beware

Indeed, I had put out a warning in 2005 about the challenges of all the cameras and facial recognition technology advances and how that would affect the spy craft. In other words members of intelligence agencies throughout the world, including our own CIA will have trouble concealing their identities due to the facial recognition technologies. Once someone is on Facebook, their picture will forever give them away in the future based on the mathematical formulas used by FRT or facial recognition technology. Okay so, let’s talk for a moment shall we.
There was an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal on January 21, 2012 entitled; “Dear ID Scanner, It’s Still Me,” and the article stated; “face recognition technology is crossing a new threshold: identifying people even after they’ve had plastic surgery.” Apparently as per the article some researchers at Notre Dame had taken some 900 different people who had had plastic surgery and the FRT software was accurate between 78%, it still recognized the person based on its mathematical matrix which measures the geometry of the face.
For instance, the center of the mouth, and the distance to the nose, and the distance between the eyes, and ears, and all the distances to one another basically remained the same. Unless someone had had facial reconstruction due to a traffic accident, where their face was smashed and, and the bones were rebuilt or jaw was reconfigured, the FRT software gave them away. And just because those changes were made, does not mean those people can still get away if all the other distances and measurements are the same in the mathematical matrix.
Now then, perhaps when the CIA recruits people, they will have to recruit them when they first enter high school, and show interest that they may wish to be a CIA spy. And they will have to start with a false identity on Facebook, and put up that information for the next 10 or 12 years until they do become a spy so there is a history there. Without a decade-long history online, without any pictures using one’s real name, or any photographs from friends taken with their digital personal tech device such as a smart phone, they will be found out by foreign governments using the same FRT software.
One picture from a friend identifying you as your true self will give you away. Therefore, either they need to recruit people who are using their true identity, or pre-plan a decade of life in advance. The last option would be to have them go through massive reconstructive surgery before joining and getting a new identity. Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
